Weekend Updates, Fish, Hummus and Crawling!

Ingrit and Mommy went to Underwater World at the Mall of America yesterday. We liked it. The goal was to learn the sign for "fish". Well, we'll see, but she got to see a whole bunch of fish! She seemed to really like this giant turtle that swam right up to her face.

Last night we went to an Attachment Parenting Meet Up potluck at one of the women's houses. That was really fun. The husbands/partners and the babies and kids were there. It's so nice to sit and talk and watch the babies play with people who are like minded in child-growing. And all of the kids were very cute. And Ingrit likes hummus with fresh tomato slices. MMMM....a kid after my own tummers.

Ingrit seems to be making friends with one little girl. And she watched in wonder as the others crawled all around. A couple minutes into watching them all crawl, Ingrit started crawling too! Guess she just needed to be sold on the concept. You should see her go baby go!

Today we went to the Children's Museum with G and G W. Ingrit's probably a little young for most of it, but we played in the "habitot" area and she found a favorite thing. Today's favorite thing was a play mail box full of play mail. No surprise since Ingers loves mail. I think every time she goes she'll find a new favorite thing.

Yikes!

Yesterday, Ingrit was in her crib, I was putting laundry away in her room, Jack was sitting under my feet, and I looked at Ingers and said to myself, "She's going to stand up." Ingrit looked right at me and, as if it weren't nothing, she grabbed the crib bars and stood right up. Then she smiled and peered over the top rail.

Yikes! I give her until May to be climbing out of that crib.

Before and After

OKay, so I can't ge the pictures in the right order, but I'm guessing you can logically order them. The top on is "after I helped make cupcakes and got to eat one".

We love to read.

Valentine's Day

Ingrit's first Valentine's Day! She helped me make cupcakes for Daddy. We cheated and went with a mix, but I think we'll make them every year.

Ingrit received a new bath toy from Cupid. Ernie in a wind up boat. She had a lot of fun with it this morning. Evidence? The whole kitchen was a pond when she finished and I didn't really need a shower.

Ingrit attended her first funeral today. My mom's dad's brother. Ingrit insisted on singing and dancing in the funeral home. We had to leave early. She was just too happy!

When we got home we frosted the cupcakes, ate another lunch (we're going for more smaller meals lately) and played while waiting for Daddy to come home.

Things that are good

zylophone, guitar, music, monkeys, greeting cards (she loves them!), babies, older boys (it's gotta be their toys---she's getting a bus for B-Day), yogurt, corn bread, graham crackers, dogs, cats, almost all people, high chairs at restaurants, riding in the cart at the grocery store, ring sling, shoes with animals on them, remote controls, phones, not wearing snowsuits and coats and mittens and hats and oh my's, walking with assistance, squash, sweet potatoes, peas, all fruit, finger foods, bounce and dance, helping (she gets jobs like holding onto the corn at the store or banging a wooden spoon on the ground when we're cooking), kisses and hugs, thick soft cloth diapers (better for falling on!), watching the kids accross at the school accross the street, watching Jack roll around in the back yard, going for walks, being naked, bath time, mornings, teeth (hers and mine---dental exams all around!), waving hi and bye, rolling on Jack the dog, finger painting with food, lion walker thing, story time at the library, coffee with ladies and babies, vacuuming, singing, apple cranberry juice, books...
Ingrit's happy. Like all the time.
Things that are bad: wiener dogs, pooping, meat loaf, cottage cheese, naps, bedtimes...
